Hi, Everyone!
ettitude is aiming to raise $4000 for the Oncology Children's Foundation (OCF) for research into childhood cancers with the lowest survival rates such as Brain Tumors and Neuroblastoma. Almost half of children with these cancers do not survive their battle.
Researchers funded by OCF have developed a new drug that targets an area of the cancer cell skeleton that is crucial for cell movement and growth in Neuroblastoma, which kill Neuroblastoma cells very effectively. What's more, this drug has also been proven to be as effective against Melanoma (skin cancer) cells as it is against Neuroblastoma and the program is now in a position to take this new drug to clinical trial. This will be a world first and in time it has the potential to have a profound impact on outcomes for all cancer patients.
ettitude founder Phoebe Yu will take on the challenge to Trek The Himalayas for 5 days and spend a day making sick kids in Kathmandu smile with another 19 fellow fundraisers of this project.
Donations raised from this event will help take OCF's Drug Discovery Program to clinical trial and help give all kids with cancer the opportunity to grow up and live their dreams! We would love any contribution, great or small (although the bigger the better!), that you could make.
